I also just found out about this website (from a male friend of mine, no less). Well, better late than never, I say! I love that picture of the girl in white with the scarf, and I agree that the pictures are very inspiring. You know I'm also in grad school, and the opportunities for dressing up are minimal...which is tragic! I love to pick out my outfits and think about clothes more than I'd like to admit, but I have to say, there's no better mood-enhancer than dressing to kill. Fernando Lamas had it only half-right...if you look good, you will feel better.

So now you now how shallow I really am. :-)

I love the Sartorialist, but I'm always amazed by how many comments it gets. Do that many people really take the time to comment on somebody else's shoes? Silly question.

I love The Sartorialist, but only discovered it recently as well. I have to admit I don't think all that much about what I wear...I'm in grad school, I can get away with t-shirts and cords, and if I did dress like the ladies in the Sartorialist pictures I think my colleages would wonder what the heck was going on. But it's still very inspiring to look at, and maybe someday I'll be more thoughtful about dressing myself.

Love the new blog, by the way!

I am the furthest thing in the world from a "sartorialist." If I could wear exactly the same thing every day and never have to think about my clothes...I would. Totally. With the exception of handknits (and maybe shoes, but only comfortable shoes), I just don't care. Nonetheless, I do appreciate the artistry and creativity that people who do care put into their attire. I understand why they do. I feel that way about decorating and gardening. Just not clothes.

I was *just* thinking about this today as I was trying to decide what clothes to bring on a 2-week trip. I NEVER make an effort. I am so lazy about dressing. I really need to step it up.

Oh I love The Sartorialist as well, and I only just found out about it less than a month ago, so you are so not late to the party.
